Day 01:
Arrive in New Delhi- the national capital of the Republic of India; is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. From “Indraprastha” to “Shahjahanabad” to New Delhi, it has been established and destroyed over seven times. Our representative will receive you at the airport / train station. Transfer to the hotel. Depending upon the available time, perform sightseeing in New Delhi.

Day 02:
After breakfast, explore New Delhi further. Visit the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites- the Qutab Minar, Humayun’s tomb and the Red Fort. See the India Gate- the famous war memorial. Visit the Lotus temple- New Delhi’s answer to Sydney’s Opera house. Drive past the administrative blocks, the Parliament house, and the Rashtrapati Bhawan- residence of the President of India. Stroll in the world famous Chandni Chowk and try some street delicacies. Explore the Old or the Walled City further.

Day 03:
After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to one of the towns of the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Shekhawati literally, is the land of Shekhawat Rulers. The region derived its name from “Maharao Shekha” (1433–1488) who was one of the greatest Rajput chieftains, belonged to the Kachhwaha (Kushwaha) clan of Amber/Jaipur, and ruled over Amarsar. Maharao Shekha fought 52 battles in his life. In Shekhawati, Frescoes were introduced by the Shekhawat Rajputs in their Forts, Palaces and Havelis. This region has been recognized as the "largest open art gallery of the world" and has the largest concentration of frescos in the world. Drive past several villages observing the locals and their tranquil lives. Arrive in the town and check into the hotel.

Day 04:
After a relaxed breakfast, explore Shekhawati further. Visit the various magnificently frescoed Havelis, private forts and palaces, stroll through quaint villages and try to be a part of the bygone era. Walk around the town exploring the markets, people, and local life and so on.

Day 05:
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Bikaner- a city established in 1486 by King Bika. From its small origins, it has come to be one of the largest cities in Rajasthan. Visit the magnificent “Junagarh Fort”. This is the only fort in India which is not built on a hill. Architectural inputs from across the world can easily be seen in this fort. Explore the other places of Interest in Bikaner.

Day 06:
After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Jaisalmer- the Golden City; home to the Great Indian Desert. En route, stop in Khichan (only in specific seasons) to check if the migratory birds from Central Asia have arrived. Later, arrive in Jaisalmer and check into the hotel. In the evening, take an excursion to the world famous Sam (Sum) sand dunes. Enjoy rolling and playing in the sand, camel rides in the dunes, and beautiful views of the Sun setiing in the dunes.

Day 07:
After breakfast, explore the Golden City further. Visit the wondrous Golden fort, rising in the middle of the city out of a sand dune. The fort was built in the year 1156 AD. It is the only inhabited fort in India with a considerable population still residing inside it. The fort appears to be changing color with the position of the Sun. Visit the Gadsisar lake complex. This will be followed by a visit the exquisitely carved “Patwon ki Haveli” which belonged to a wealthy business family which had its business operations in over 30 countries in even those days.

Day 08:
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to Jodhpur- the Sun City, the land of the brave Rathore clan of warrior kings established in 1459 by Rao Jodha. Arrive in Jodhpur and check into the hotel. Later, visit the impregnable Mehrangarh fort perched atop a hill. This will be followed by a visit to the Jaswant Thada- the royal crematorium built in white marble so thin and polished that it allows light to pass through it. Later, visit the Ummed Bhawan Palace- one of the largest Royal residences in the world. His highness the King of Jodhpur resides in the Palace. A part of the Palace and the vintage car gallery is open to the public for viewing; the second has been converted into a super luxury hotel and the Royal family resides in the third.

Day 09:
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Udaipur. En route, visit the Ranakpur Jain temple located in the middle of the jungle. Built in 1437 CE, the temple is made in white marble. It has over 1444 pillars. It is said that it is almost impossible to count the exact number of pillars. The pillars are carved in a manner that no two are the same. Also, no two idols face each other. Later, continue the drive to Udaipur. Arrive in Udaipur and check into the hotel. In the evening, enjoy a romantic boat ride in the Lake Pichola with the towering Palace complex in the backdrop. The Bond film- Octopussy was shot at the Lake Palace in Udaipur.

Day 10:
Today after breakfast, explore Udaipur. Udaipur was recently adjudicated as the most romantic city in India; the best city in Asia and the world in 2009-10 by Travel and Leisure, the USA. Visit the City Palace, the museums, the galleries. Visit the magnificent Jagdish temple. Walk around the old city. Spend time around the lake to see why Udaipur is termed as “Venice of the East”.

Day 11:
After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to “Chittaurgarh”- the most important seat of the Kingdom of Mewar; site for the oldest and the largest fort in India. The fort is a city in itself. Thousands of tales of valor, pride and bravery appear to be echoing from within the fort including the one of Queen Padmini who committed suicide in the pyre along with 13000 other women in order to avoid falling into the hands of the Mughal invader. Later continue to Bundi- a quaint and beautiful medieval town which has yet not found its place on most of the tourist itineraries. A substantial wall with four gateways encircles the city. Arrive in Bundi and check into the hotel. Visit the impregnable Taragarh Fort built in 1354 AD. The fort contains three water tanks which never dry up. The technique with which they were built has been long since lost but the tanks survive as a testament to the advanced methods of construction and engineering in medieval India. Walk around the old city and the other markets and attractions.

Day 12:
After breakfast, check out of the hotel in Bundi and drive to the Ranthambhore National Park- regarded by many as the best place to spot the largest member of the cat family in its natural habitat. Also, the park is compact and the tiger population is quite healthy, thus making way for excellent tiger sightings. Other than the tiger, there is a considerable population of Leopards, Black Bears, Deer, Sambhar, Wild Boar and some rare species of birds like the Serpent Eagle and several kinds of Vultures. Arrive at Ranthambhore and check into the hotel. In the afternoon, take a safari in the park.

Day 13:
Take an early morning session of park safari for wildlife viewing. Later, after breakfast, trek up to the mighty Ranthambhore fort which is beautifully hidden in the hills and the dense forest and it is almost impossible to spot it even when one is close to it. It is regarded as the second largest fort in India and dates back to the 5th- 6th century AD. In the afternoon / evening, visit the park once again on a safari. Visiting the park at different (though fixed) times of the day could be a good way to see the wildlife and to maybe get a chance to spot the predator- the tiger.

Day 14:
After breakfast, check out of the hotel in Ranthambhore and drive to the heritage city of Jaipur- the capital city of the state of Royal Rajasthan, famous for its forts, palaces, museums and other monuments, handloom, exquisite jewellery, gem stones, miniature paintings and carvings, royal dresses, carpets, antique furniture, frescoes and a lot more. Arrive in Jaipur and check into the hotel. Later, take a tour of Jaipur- visit the mighty Amer Fort perched atop a hill outside the city. Amer was the original capital of the Kachhwaha rulers before Jaipur was established by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1720s. Make a photo stop at the Jal Mahal- the Water Palace. Evening will be free for shopping.

Day 15:
After breakfast, explore Jaipur further- Drive past the Hawa Mahal (the Palace of Winds); visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Jantar Mantar- the ancient observatory. Explore the magnificent City Palace. Stroll in the heritage markets. In the evening, visit an ethnic village. Watch and participate in hundreds of activities like folk dance and music, puppet shows, magic shows, rides, and munch on a traditional Rajasthan dinner in a traditional Rajasthan way.

Day 16:
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Agra. En route, make a stop at the ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri which was built by Akbar and was later abandoned due to several known and unknown reasons. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. Later, continue to Agra. Arrive in Agra and check into the hotel. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Agra fort followed by a visit to the Taj Mahal- a symbol of eternal love, poetry carved in white marble, a UNESCO world heritage site and a wonder of the world. Spend time feasting the eyes on the beauty of one of the most beautiful manmade structures as the Taj Mahal is only 10% about seeing- the remaining 90% is simply about feeling.

Day 17:
After Breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Delhi. Transfer to the airport / train station for onward journey. Fly home with fond memories and with a promise to visit India someday soon.
